Founder's Statement

I didn’t grow up an athlete. I didn’t grow up vegan. But in my late 40s, I found myself sitting in my primary care doctor’s office, worried about my slightly elevated blood pressure. I asked for pills—looking for a quick fix. Instead, he told me to lose 20 pounds. No prescriptions, just a challenge: drop from close to 230 to 210 and come back in a couple of months.


That was my wake-up call. Not long after, I laced up my shoes and ran a single mile—and something shifted. That simple act of movement, paired with a fully plant-based lifestyle, sparked a transformation that reshaped my body, my mind, and my purpose.

  

I didn’t switch to a vegan diet because it was trendy—I made the change after diving into the science. I listened to The Proof podcast, studied clinical research, and watched documentaries like The Game Changers and Forks Over Knives. I wanted facts, not fads—and what I found convinced me. Within weeks of cutting out animal products, my bloodwork improved, my recovery time dropped, my energy increased, and I experienced a level of mental clarity I hadn’t felt in years. I wasn’t just exercising—I was optimizing.


From that first mile came 5Ks, half marathons, and full marathons. Then a couple of ultramarathons. I stepped into a CrossFit box, embraced Hyrox competitions, and committed to the grind of half-Ironman training. None of this is for trophies or attention—but to live with intention, to pursue health, and to push the limits of what’s possible when discipline meets purpose. Because at the end of the day, the biggest goal is simple:


To live a long, healthy life. To be here—strong and capable—for the people I love.


Plantblood is the result of that journey. It stands for those who choose resilience over comfort. Plants over compromise. Grit over convenience. I’ve connected with others on the same mission—vegan athletes, purpose-driven individuals in all age groups - who are showing the next generation what strength truly looks like.


This brand is for those who don’t rely on hype or motivation. They rely on mindset - the kind of mindset the Finns call SISU—unyielding determination in the face of adversity. Strength with soul.
